Courage, Determination, and Total Transformation

Mrs. RR is a 34-year-old woman from Oaxaca, Mexico. She is a single mother of two boys who was a victim of domestic violence. When Mrs. RR first came to our office, she would cry a lot; she was very shy and would speak badly about herself because she felt she was a burden to herself and others. She had very low self-confidence and self-esteem, believing she deserved to be left behind. She spoke Spanish to us but would often apologize because she felt her Spanish was not well-spoken since her first language is Mixteco.

Our team always encouraged and supported her by making her feel she mattered. We wanted her to understand the importance of her courage and determination to be brave and care for her children as a single mother. We advised her and recommended she see a psychologist for the trauma she suffered from domestic violence. After a couple of sessions, we witnessed a different Ms. RR. She was more confident, secure, and a lot happier with herself and her life.

When our legal team obtained her green card, she was genuinely ecstatic. She was very thankful and even volunteered to help victims of domestic violence in her community. Ms. RR is one of the many clients we helped and cared for. Mrs. RR's story is one of the testimonies showcasing how courage, determination, and total transformation are possible. Every victory is a grand victory and a beautiful moment to share with them because we understand the meaning behind each filed petition.
